Campa Cola to Establish First Manufacturing Unit in Bihar with ₹1,000 Crore Investment

In a significant development for Bihar’s industrial landscape, Campa Cola, the iconic Indian soft drink brand now owned by Reliance Consumer Products Ltd. (RCPL), has announced plans to set up its first manufacturing unit in the state. The proposed facility will be located in Begusarai and involves an investment of ₹1,000 crore. The project has received approval from the Project Clearance Committee of the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA), marking one of the largest single-company investments in the state in recent years.

The upcoming plant will span 35 acres and is expected to commence construction later this year, with operations anticipated to begin by the end of 2026. This initiative is part of RCPL’s broader strategy to revive and expand the Campa Cola brand, which was relaunched in March 2023. The establishment of this facility is projected to generate substantial employment opportunities and stimulate the local economy in Begusarai and surrounding regions.

State officials view this investment as a significant boost to Bihar’s manufacturing sector. The presence of Campa Cola is expected to attract ancillary businesses and foster industrial growth in the region. In addition to the Campa Cola project, BIADA has also approved land for a ₹20 crore cattle feed manufacturing unit in Muzaffarpur, indicating a diversification of industrial investments across the state. Patna Press+1LinkedIn+1LinkedIn+1Patna Press+1

The decision by Reliance to invest in Bihar underscores the state’s improving industrial climate and its potential as a hub for large-scale manufacturing operations. This move is anticipated to encourage other major corporations to consider Bihar for future investments, further enhancing the state’s economic development.

The Campa Cola brand, once a household name in India during the 1970s and 1980s, is being revitalized under Reliance’s ownership. The new manufacturing unit in Begusarai is a critical component of this revival, aiming to cater to the growing demand for beverages across India, particularly in the eastern market. Medium
