Four prominent Bollywood personalities—Kapil Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, Remo D’Souza, and Sugandha Mishra—have reportedly received death threats originating from Pakistan. Mumbai Police has filed a First Information Report (FIR) and initiated an investigation into the matter to ensure the safety of the individuals involved.
Details of the Threat Against Kapil Sharma
The threatening email stated: “We are monitoring your recent activities and believe it is important to bring a sensitive matter to your attention. This is not a publicity stunt or an attempt to harass you. We urge you to treat this message with utmost seriousness and confidentiality.” The email was signed by an individual identifying themselves as ‘BISHNU.’
The situation escalated on December 14, 2024, when actor Rajpal Yadav received an email from the same individual. The email threatened to harm Kapil Sharma and his team, citing the sponsorship of his show by Salman Khan as the reason. The matter prompted immediate action, with Yadav’s wife, Radha Rajpal Yadav, filing a formal police complaint at the Amboli Police Station in Mumbai.
Legal Action and Police Investigation
A case has been registered under Section 351(3) of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita, which pertains to threats of harm. Mumbai Police has assured that Kapil Sharma and his team will receive adequate security.
Initial investigations have traced the email’s IP address to Pakistan. Authorities are now working in coordination with relevant governmental agencies to establish communication with Pakistan for further inquiries. The recipient of the email was instructed to respond within eight hours to avoid personal and professional repercussions.
