Shweta Tiwari’s Turbulent Past: Shocking Revelation About First Husband Raja Chaudhary Resurfaces

Renowned television actress Shweta Tiwari has always been vocal about the struggles she faced in her personal life, especially her two failed marriages. The actress, known for her powerful roles on screen, has endured emotional turmoil behind the scenes, particularly during her first divorce from actor Raja Chaudhary.

Shweta Tiwari and Raja Chaudhary were once a popular television couple. They got married in the late 1990s and a few years later welcomed their daughter, Palak Tiwari, who has now stepped into the limelight herself. However, their marriage began to crumble under the weight of serious allegations. In 2012, after years of marital discord, the couple officially divorced. Shweta accused Raja of domestic violence, and the legal proceedings that followed lasted nearly five years.

In a 2012 interview with Hindustan Times, Shweta opened up about the pain and relief she felt when the court finally granted her divorce. She described the moment as surreal and said it felt like a heavy burden had been lifted. “I was the happiest when the judge signed the divorce papers. After five years of fighting, it felt unreal,” she said.

However, what shocked many was the revelation about the divorce settlement. According to the Hindustan Times report, Shweta was required to hand over a flat worth Rs. 93 lakh to Raja Chaudhary as part of the settlement. Initially, her legal team had proposed that the property be co-owned by Raja and their daughter Palak. But Raja refused the offer and insisted on sole ownership of the property.

What followed was even more disturbing. Shweta recalled in the interview that Raja had allegedly made an appalling statement during their settlement discussions. “I was shocked when Raja said, ‘I will sacrifice my daughter for property. Give me the flat and I will give you a divorce,’” she revealed. The actress was left stunned by the extent to which he was willing to go to claim the property.

Though Raja eventually received the flat, the settlement came with conditions. He was not allowed to meet their daughter, Palak, at his discretion. However, Shweta was obligated to allow Palak to meet her father whenever the child expressed the desire to do so.

After closing that chapter of her life, Shweta found love again and married actor Abhinav Kohli in 2013. The couple welcomed their son, Reyansh, together. Unfortunately, this marriage too ended on a bitter note, and they separated in 2019 amid allegations of harassment against Abhinav.

Despite the challenges in her personal life, Shweta has continued to shine professionally and has raised both of her children with strength and grace. Her daughter Palak Tiwari has recently made her Bollywood debut and is quickly becoming a rising star in the industry.

Shweta’s story is one of resilience and courage. Her revelations about the emotional and legal trauma she endured highlight the struggles many women face in abusive relationships. Her transparency not only sheds light on her personal journey but also inspires many others battling similar situations to find their voice and seek justice.
